CarMate — Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are

The CarMate mobile application ("App") is operated by:

2. What CarMate is

CarMate is a digital service book for drivers in Poland. The App lets you, in particular:

• keep your vehicle's service history (dates, mileage, costs, place, notes);
• receive reminders for deadlines — including insurance (OC), the technical inspection (przegląd), and mileage-based service;
• use a map-based directory of nearby car services (car washes, mechanics, tire shops, parts stores, gas stations, dealers), save places, and add reviews.

CarMate is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and occasional interruptions or errors should be expected.

3. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the App.

5. Your account

• You sign in with a Google account or via a sign-in link sent to your email address (passwordless sign-in). You are responsible for keeping your email inbox and Google account secure.
• You must provide accurate information and use the App only for personal, non-commercial purposes.
• You may delete your account at any time in the App settings or by emailing us. Deletion removes your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6. Technical requirements

To use the App you need: a mobile device running Android or iOS (in currently supported versions), an internet connection, and an active email address or Google account. Some features require system permissions — reminders require notification permission, and the nearby-services map requires location access.

7. License to use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal use on your own devices. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from the App except as permitted by law.

8. Your vehicles and service history

• You enter your vehicle data and service-history records yourself. They remain yours — you are responsible for their accuracy and completeness.
• We store them so you can access them on your devices; we do not verify their content and are not responsible for decisions you make based on them.
• You may edit, export, or delete them at any time. Deleting your account removes them in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Deadline reminders

Reminders (including for OC, the technical inspection, or mileage-based service) are a convenience feature, based on the data you enter and on best-effort delivery of notifications.

Reminders are not a guarantee. You remain solely responsible for meeting any deadlines required by law or by your contracts (including OC and the technical inspection). We are not liable for a reminder that is not sent, is delayed, or is not delivered for reasons beyond our control — in particular due to device settings, the operating system, lack of network connectivity, or out-of-date data you entered.

10. Business listings and data accuracy

• Listing information (locations, hours, contact details) comes from public data sources, including OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under ODbL), Google services, and user contributions.
• We are not affiliated with the businesses listed and do not endorse, guarantee, or take responsibility for their services, prices, availability, or quality.
• Information may be outdated or incorrect. Always verify critical details (especially opening hours) directly with the business before traveling.
• Businesses cannot currently claim or manage listings. If you represent a listed business and want information corrected or removed, contact us at hello@carm8.app.

11. User content (reviews and edits)

You may post reviews and ratings and suggest edits to business information ("User Content").

By submitting User Content you:

• grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and modify it for operating and promoting the App;
• confirm it is truthful, based on your own experience, and does not infringe anyone's rights.

You must not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, offensive, discriminatory, misleading (including fake reviews), spam, advertising, or that contains personal data of third parties.

We may review, edit, refuse, or remove User Content at our discretion, including suggested edits that do not meet quality standards. We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these rules.

Reporting content. If you believe content in the App is unlawful or breaches these Terms, report it to hello@carm8.app. We will review the report without undue delay and take appropriate action (e.g. removing the content or blocking the account), informing the reporter of the outcome where contact details are provided.

12. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the App while driving in a way that violates traffic law — set up your search before you start driving;
• interfere with or disrupt the App, servers, or networks;
• access the App by automated means (bots, scrapers) or attempt to extract our database;
• impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with a business;
• use the App for any unlawful purpose.

13. Price

The App is currently free of charge. We may introduce optional paid features in the future, under separate terms; any such change will be announced in advance and will never retroactively charge you for past use.

14. Intellectual property

The App, its design, logos, and software are owned by the Provider or its licensors. Map data is used under the ODbL and other applicable licenses with attribution; the rights of the data's authors remain with them.

15. Privacy

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us.

16. Disclaimers and liability

• The App is provided "as is" during the beta, without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
• To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage resulting from reliance on listing information, the actions of listed businesses, reminders (see section 9), or temporary unavailability of the App.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Polish law, including our liability for willful misconduct, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

17. Complaints

You may file a complaint about the App by emailing hello@carm8.app, describing the problem, the date it occurred, and your contact details. We will respond within 14 days of receiving the complaint. The complaints procedure does not exclude or limit your statutory rights as a consumer.

18. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, with notice and reasons unless prevented by law. Where feasible, we will give you a chance to remedy the breach first.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms for valid reasons (legal changes, new features, security). We will notify you in the App or by email at least 14 days before changes take effect. If you do not agree, you may delete your account before the effective date; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

20. Governing law and disputes

• These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections granted by mandatory laws of your country of residence.
• Disputes will be resolved by the competent Polish common courts; consumers may also sue and be sued in the courts of their place of residence within the EU.
• We will first try to resolve any dispute amicably — contact us at hello@carm8.app.
• EU consumers may use the Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

21. Language versions

These Terms are provided in Polish, English, and Russian. The Polish version is binding; the others are for convenience. This does not deprive consumers of protections granted by mandatory provisions of law.
